Soundstring Cable Technologies™ was founded in March, 2001 through the combined efforts of Superior Insulated Wire Corporation and the Lion Cords Division of Astrophonic Corporation of America, two veteran wire & cable manufacturers, both founded in the mid 1940’s. More than 125 years of combined wire and cable design, manufacturing, packaging and sales experience was utilized to design and develop our products from the inside out. Our products are not extensions or enhancements of old, familiar or exotic cable designs. We have incorporated innovative Progressive Geometric Multi-gauged/Multi-conductor concepts and designs, setting higher standards for performance, quality and reliability. All of our products will deliver optimum performance at affordable prices.
This did not happen overnight. Soundstring™ products are the culmination of years spent in the research and development of new cable designs that form an “evolutionary pathway of least resistance” in sound transfer and voltage control. Our patented high performance Power Supply Cords, Audio and Interconnect Cables, and the very first patented “Ultra Low Mass” RCA Plug, greatly exceed the scope of today's digital systems, while simultaneously flattering state-of-the-art analog.
A combination of advanced design technology and proven business experience has been key to our success. As prime manufacturers we control all design, manufacturing, testing, packaging, overhead and in-house marketing costs. This eliminates typical "middle man" costs associated with out-sourcing many of these functions by most of our competitors. Only our XLR connectors, patented "Ultra Low Mass" RCA jacks, heavy duty 14Kt. gold plated spade lugs & banana plugs and our exclusive Static Guard™ Harvest Gold tightly woven nylon multi-filament outer jacket are supplied by outside vendors, all to our exacting specifications. Every audio and video system, regardless of cost, will benefit from the advanced technological and design concepts of our products. How well do our products perform? We have been very favorably reviewed by many well known, respected reviewers from on-line and printed audiophile publications. We were named to Philip Gold’s "Best of 2003" list at 6Moons.com and received a 2004 "Most Wanted Component" award from The Stereo Times audiophile magazine. In 2007, Jim Merod, the owner of the Blueport Jazz Recording Studio in southern California and a respected reviewer at Positive-Feedback.com, tested and reviewed our Octaphase™ Omega Pro-Line shielded and balanced Interconnects for use as microphone recording cables. The results were so good that he voted them as one of his personal choices for the "Best Products of the Year for 2007!" We have also partnered and exhibited with many of the well known speaker, amplifier, CD/DVD/SACD and Video player manufacturers at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Home Entertainment and Rocky Mt. Audiofest Shows.
Our entry into the high-end audio cable market in 2001 focused on Power Supply Cords, Interconnects and Speaker Cables. Current plans include the introduction of specialty digital cables for Video, Multi-Media and Home Theater applications. These will include HDMI and DVI cables, 75 Ohm Digital Coaxial Cable, Color Coded multi-conductor audio cables with RCA jacks and plugs for digital applications, and possibly some USB type cables and adaptors for computers and digital cameras. In addition, our patented Tricormaxial™ Speaker and Power Supply Cables, our Octaphase™ Alpha Series (non-shielded) Interconnect Cable and our Omega Pro-Line™ Series (shielded) Interconnect and Microphone Cables are now available on bulk, continuous length spools and reels for "in-the-field" installations. Also under consideration is supplying both of our patented Tricormaxial™ power and speaker cables with a special outer jacket suitable for in-ground or "direct burial" applications. As of January 1, 2007, new production runs for every wire and cable we sell are also in compliance with international "RoHS" lead-free standards.
We will continue being a progressive, innovative, cost conscious industry force for the future. Anything less is unacceptable - compromise is not in our vocabulary!
